Gaeta began in 1973, when Dennis Gaeta, having been recently discharged from the U.S. Navy, bought a truck and began doing clean-outs and light demolition work out of his house. One truck quickly grew into three and then four, and when his brother was old enough to drive, Dennis bought Gaeta’s first roll-off truck. That first roll-off truck slowly grew into a small fleet and in 1985 Gaeta’s transfer station was established at 25 Van Street in Staten Island, NY.
But it wasn’t until 1990 that Gaeta became involved in the sanitation business, a decision that nearly doubled the size of the fleet overnight. At the same time, demolition was expanding, and Gaeta slowly progressed from light to heavy demolition, most notably within the last ten years.
