GARBAGE TRUCK DRIVER EMPLOYMENT JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA
compensation: To be determined based on experience.
The primary function is to operate (drive) equipment in a safe and productive manner to service commercial and residential customers.
SPECIFIC DRIVER DUTIES:
Operate trucks often equipped with hydraulic lifting devices to collect containers of garbage and trash and transport loads to disposal sites.
Operate and maintain the equipment (truck) in a manner to prevent equipment down time.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety and maintenance procedures.
Perform equipment safety checks, (i.e. check oil, water, tires, lights, etc.) and pre-trip and post trip inspections.
Perform duties to meet company expectations and customer satisfaction.
Maintain clean and tidy vehicle.
Must have current Class B Commercial License
Must have a minimum of three (3) years heavy truck driving experience
Must have current MVR and clean driving record for past three (3) years.
Language requirements are reading, writing, spelling and the ability to communicate clearly in English.
Body positions: Standing, sitting, bending, climbing and stooping.
Body Movements: Carrying (up to 75 lbs), use of hands, eyes, arms and voice.
DRIVER WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in all types of weather, driving and road conditions, often requiring maneuvering in close spaces.
50-59 work hours weekly is typical with early morning start time and may include some Saturdays.
